Surbiton Railway Bridge - underside

The regular residents of the bridge are the pigeons.
This section here is being worked on and is completely open - you can see the underside of the railway tracks suspended in mid air in other pictures in this set

The railway bridge over Upper Brighton Road in Surbiton is being repaired this weekend and next. For such an insignificant bridge, the knock-on effects are amazing - disruption of all services out of Waterloo, and the closure of this road which is actually a very busy one, the main route from the M25 to Chessington, Surbiton and Kingston-upon-Thames.

You can see from this shot how much it definitely needs maintaining! The "hole" exposing the actual railway tracks is just in frame bottom right (see previous pictures for detail) but this shows the dirty, decrepit state of the rest of the bridge still to be maintained.

Still, the pigeons like it here ...
