Maestro Joseph Giunta, adjunct professor of music at Drake University and music director of the Des Moines Symphony, conducts the orchestra at the 2011 Yankee Doodle Pops, Iowa's largest single-day concert. The free event, which begins tonight at 8:30 p.m. and concludes with fireworks, draws a crowd of approximately 100,000 to the Iowa State Capitol.
