Thank you so much for sharing such a
beautiful photo!
I've been inside Clingstone. My grandpa, Fred
Stone, was involved in the restoration
project. The house is bigger than it looks
from the water - those windows are actually
very large, which you can tell here by
comparison with the people. I was only there
for a couple of days, maybe 15 years ago, so
I don't remember it that well. But I remember
the huge staircase, and there were lots of
cool rooms to explore!
I've had a couple family reunions there. Best
was having the reunion for the last Tall
Ships event, we had the best seat in the
house besides Castle Hill. I must have been
on the roof top deck for at least 4 hours.
I had a friend who sent me some pictures of
this house. I lived in Massachusetts . Never
noticed this before. I have posted the
pictures of inside of some of the rooms she
sent. Lovely old home.
I am entered in the National Gingerbread
Competition in November and have finally come
up with a subject to do out of gingerbread! I
grew up in Jamestown and Clingstone was
visible from the beach in front of the house
I lived on Conanicus Ave right down from the
Bay View Inn, which I had thought about
doing when I remember Clingstone. Do you
have any pictures from the other sides of the
house? I want to make it as realistic as
possible, and thought I actually had some but
that was over 20 years ago, so who knows!

I sailed by this house so many times; always wondering how it looks like inside. The view must be breathtaking.

There is a new set of high resolution, high dynamic range spherical panoramas of the interior of Clingstone at tksharpless.net/Clingstone/A_Visit_to_Clingst one.html. Enjoy!
