Heh. Where is this? There's a Union Jack
which would point to somewhere in Great
Britain but the language is risible...

I hate when my days wind around each other.

Step one: Set a hula hoop vertically.
Step two: Place a mannequin in the hula
hoop.
Presto! Instant rockslide!
Note: You may find that your hula hoop is
now triangular; this is normal.
Britons need not heed this sign.

LOL! You've confirmed for me that this sign
is where I thought it was.
Edit: karohemd I should have explained
where this is, earlier. It is on the road
between Buenavista del Norte and Punta Teno
at the north west corner of Tenerife in the
Canary Islands. I think the Union Jack is
there, just in case you can't work out what
language it is! :)
I only noticed this sign, because you are
not the only person to have captured it in
it's full glory . Thank you: this saves me a three mile round
trip to confirm it personally. :)
(Drat, if I'd known you were coming THAT
close to where I live, I'd have invited you
all up to Secret Tenerife Towers for coffee.)
Not that I really expect them to DO
anything to correct it, but I am going to
have a word with our mayor about this (yes, I
do know him quite well), because it is
disgrace to put up a hulking great sign like
this in Spanglish. Well, except maybe for our
entertainment.
Winding days: I thought we couldn't pass on
days when we are stressed, or when we'd eaten
too many garbanzo beans! :)
Oh yeah and the road to Punta Teno is
always closed and everyone always ignores the
sign and carries on. :) I think there may be
a counter thingy in the road and, if too many
people go down at one time, then the police
come along and actually enforce it.

I take that you live around Buenta Vista
area?
I don't think I left any major part of Tenerife uncovered.. I explored
every place I could possibly think of and see
on the map. I'm sure there's still some
hidden treasures that aren't documented
anywhere... That's why I like your website!
I took along my GPS and will be posting my
Earth Google tracks as soon as I clean it up.
As for the "Spanglish" I bet it
was done with something like Google Translator

LOL! You were commenting on mine, while I was
here. I replied there and yes, I better go look at those
French and German signs too.
Yes, you are right. I was talking to
someone about this recently: people here
genuinely think that automated translation
tools provide absolutely perfect
translations. They mostly won't be told that
they only create the kind of hilarity we see
like this - and it is often.
Just see this search for dodgy translations at my site and you'll find loads to giggle
at. At least we didn't do this one ourselves, but it could SO easily happen.
Yes, I live (or Fly there by Google Earth ) up in the El Palmar valley, just up the
road to the left (if Punta Teno is straight
on), about two miles or so above Buenavista.
End of the world, beyond civilisation as it
is generally known. Definitely hidden. Well,
it was. :)
Have a look at http://quikmaps.com/ that I have been playing with lately. You
can map stuff and get a Google Earth link all
with just a few clicks (i.e. simple enough
for me anyway :)

Accidentally found you two more Flickr groups
to which you may like to submit this
masterpiece. One is the most apt, bilingual
even, "Carteles graciosos // Funny signs " - It's all about collecting pictures
of funny, weird, nonsense signs, especially
if they are not ment to be funny. The other
is "Spelling Bee " - a place for some of those more
obscure uses (and amusing abuses) of the
English language.
