TO SKIPTON (..from the now flooded West End?)

    This confused me. We found this next to a gate, on a very weak path (in "the middle of nowhere). I'm guessing it was part of a more trodden path between the old flooded village of West End (flooded in the 1960's), now residing under Thruscross reservoir and (obviously) Skipton.
