I like the colors a lot against the grey
stone but there seems to be too much building
and not enough of the statue, feels a little
unbalanced. I like the idea though and the
details are great.
#2 (from the IWANT5! group) I like the color against the grey stone too.
Maybe aiming a lil bit lower so you gave the
top of the arch just in the frame. so you can get some more of
the statue too. Or possibly a taking a few
steps back and taking a profile shot. Very
good subject to rety with if possible.
I agree with most of the comments above. The
splash of color is a great relief to the
hardscape. I would suggest maybe cropping
the right side. #4 (from the IWANT5! group)
#5 (from the IWANT5! group) I'll give you your fifth comment! I think
this is a wonderful image. The colours are
beautifully vibrant, and do not overpower the
statue. Excellent work.
I agree about the crop. I was trying to get
as much of the mosaic into the shot as
possible, hence the current title. (It used
to be called Dr. Samuel Hahnemann Memorial,
which, in retrospect, is a crappy title.) :
)
I really like this one - shame about the
thinker being a bit too shadowed of face, and
the uncomfortable angle. The colours are
great, the contrast between foreground and
background well-caught, and it makes me smile
!
Damn, I would give this a save except for the
fact that I believe you could have done a
slightly more balanced framing on this shot,
the colour is off centre which is annoying to
me in this case.
Vibrant colour but the angle is all wrong for
me. I'd have stepped left and had the
statue's face surrounded by colour. Face is
too dark also I think. Close to a keeper, but
no cigar.
Too close to a cut-out(?) and this group
abhors cut-outs (at least if I can't get mine
in, you're not either - sorry that's deleteme
at it's best) DM10

Wow, very cool. Excellent cutout.

Thanks! It's actually not a cut-out, just some really bright tiles against some really gray stone.

colors are interesting...but i prefer real people to statues. the angle is awkward and the photo is grainy.

Awesome mosaic, but you need to do a bit of cropping on this one...

the composition isn't thought out at all. while the mosaic is nice, there isn't much else going for this photo.

Actually, I did think out the composition, but, if you don't like it, that's OK.
