    Boquillas Canyon

For anyone who has wandered into Boquilllas canyon you know its a quiet, intimate place where the walls of limestone on the other side of the river are a nation apart. The Mexicans from the little village of Boquillas a few miles away frequent this area, often interacting with the American tourists. Other times they are there just going about their own business, just as they have been for a hundred years.

This is possibly the best photo I've ever seen of this quiet, lovely canyon. Great work, sir!

Lovely photo but I have never seen the Rio Grande so blue

it was a trick of light and the effect of upstream current that settles the river down at this spot and provides a bit more clarity in the water. Not what you are used to seeing in the Rio Grande river, but it can still happen!
