DESCRIPTION: Denver and Rio Grande Railway Company operated from 1870 to 1886. It was sold under foreclosure in 1886, and was succeeded by Denver and Rio Grande Railroad Company that operated from 1886 to 1920. Train derailment near Sedalia, Colorado. Men, women and children stand outside three derailed passenger train cars. Women wear hats and long dresses, men wear hats and pants. The train cars are laying at the side of the track. Utility poles are visible behind the train cars. "Strosnider Photo" and "D&RG Wreck Sedalia Colo" are written on the bottom of the photo, which was probably a post card.
