The albums up to Nashville Skyline are still
mesmerising today. No one has ever possessed
his phrasing or his free ranging imagery.
'Visions of Johanna', 'Desolation Row' I
could go on and on. Suffice is to say my wife
has instructions to play only HIS version of
'Mr Tambourine Man' at my funeral, I like
the 1966 Albert Hall Concert version with the
extended harmonica breaks, wonderful, the
perfect send off I reckon! My teenage years, indeed my whole life would
have a gaping whole if not for his early
work...'Help Point' indeed. Thanks for posting. - Allan
thanks for your words Allan1952... I learned about Dylan in the '70s and I
do like Slow Train Coming and Desire. From
the '60s I especially enjoy the
underestimated, and almost forgotten, John
Wesley Harding. I still believe that Dylan's
version of All Along The Watchtower is
superior to anybody else because it's so laid
back and that makes it a haunting, sad song
to remember. I LOVE Bringing It All Back
Home. That album is a masterpiece.
