A L-1011 next to 2007 757-2Q8 and 2000 "Deltaflot" 767-323 sitting in Frankfurt. Waiting for a flight to Los Angeles. I don't know how many times we flew with the l-1011. In on of our albums, I have records with a flight with ship # 735. We've begun to fly with Delta in 1990. At that time, Delta has just acquired routes from Pan Am after their downfall (see PAA 103). From 1990 to 1997, the tarmac in Frankfurt was full of Delta planes. Delta served also European routes from Frankfurt's T1. In 1997, Delta moved it's operations from T1 to T2 cut many routes, leaving New York (DL 107 to and DL 106 from), Cincinnati (was DL 49 to and DL 48 from) and Atlanta (DL15 to and DL14 from). the connection to CVG was scrapped in 2009, And Delta took over Northwest flight 51 (NW 51--> NW/DL 851--> DL 851-->DL 143). Retour is NW 52 --> NW/DL 852-->DL 852-->DL 142. Delta also operates from Stuttgart, Munich, Berlin and Dusseldorf in Germany. Hamburg was also operated. For Austria, Vienna was ceased in 1995, after Delta took out the L-1011 internationally. Delta reduced many operations in Europe. So the tarmac full of Delta planes is now a dream from the past. In Frankfurt, Delta has moved several times their offices. Currently they are located at the Zeil.
Edit: I've ordered safety cards from Delta of the L-1011. It seems
