	Nelson Minar says: Back in 1997 or so the wearables computer group at the MIT Media Lab decided to do a computer-assisted marathon. Live updates on the runner's position, pulse rate, pictures, maybe even a bit of text, it was like the future! In 1997! All relayed by a little computer the runner was wearing. By "little computer" I mean a 2 pound, non-ergonomic bunch of circuit boards, batteries, and antennas duct-taped together. 	CDJB-Vacation-2009 says: Wow! This is a real problem. I had no idea. Apparently it's from constantly rubbing. The site I just checked says to apply Vaseline of Body Glide to your nipples before a long run. You can also wear band-aids or "Nip Guards" (Yes, seriously. Couldn't find them on eBay or Amazon though.). Wearing synthetic materials (Dri-Fit, non-cotton) helps too. Other areas such as under arms and thighs may experience some chaffing too. 	promark420 says: It's real. ...and it sucks. Wanna know why? When you run, you sweat (duh). Sweat cools the skin, so your nipples get cold (i.e. hard). Then the pointy nipples rub against a shirt nonstop for 13.1 or 26.2 miles. After a while, the skin says "screw this" and reacts by breaking. Last year I saw a guy at a half marathon with huge nipple-sourced blood streaks finish in the top 10, so it's not a question of having moobs or being out of shape ( as evidenced by some of the guys in here). That's just how things happen. It occasionally happens to women, too, but they have bras to mitigate some of the hemorrhaging. Posted 5 weeks ago. ( permalink )
