Meeting Tokens (The Red Merlin)

Each bag of meeting tokens will include ONE Red Merlin. It's up to you to decide how it gets in someone's hands.

Playing the Red Merlin ends ANY meeting on the spot. No questions. (Beware of retaliation though; play it to make allies, not to make enemies.)

    My late grandfather worked at Cincinnati Gas & Electric for 30 years and had a job that could be described precisely in fewer than 10 words: “I shut off people’s gas when they don’t pay.”

    So, as I sit here this morning, trying to decide how I would describe my “job” to a chain-smoking South American colonist (and Shriner) whose tech expertise ended at the rotation of a “Contrast” knob on his Zenith, I know only that the description would need to encompass this idea: when my friend decided to produce a wooden disc with a red cartoon icon of my head on it — and a few people understood why it was kind of funny — I knew that I had gotten somewhere good.

    Brilliant. I think this could really catch on. Even without a bag of physical tokens, you can invoke the idea: “That’s it, I give up. Red Merlin. We're done here.” And walk out.

    Kind of like a Godwin’s Law for meetings.
