It was only recently that I started collecting vintage buttons. Now I have more than I think I can dream up projects to use buttons in. But buttons are like paper in that you can do so many things with them. Ask a person well-versed in the art of origami what they could do with a sheet of paper and there's almost no limit to what they could create.
For me, buttons are like little works of art. They can be plain, have glowing colours, come in endless shapes and sizes, be intricately carved. And they're not just for fastening clothes. They can be made into earrings, be the centers of flowers, perch on refrigerators as magnets, showcase in brooches, be embellishments on shoes, bags, and hair bands, accent collages, be used to create mosaics. Their creative limit is limited only by the imagination.
Buttons inspire me to think beyond my creative limits and to try to see the possibilities in everything.
