Sticky Or Itchy?

Sticky Or Itchy?

Final illustration in my series for Dartmouth Alumni Magazine from July of 1999. This one features an illustration for a game that the poets are playing in the car on their way to the Creative Writing Seminar at Dartmouth College. "Sticky or Itchy," is a game in which the speaker forces the others to choose between fantastic, horrible, or perplexing states of being. Would you rather be sticky all the time or itchy all the time? Personally, i'd rather be neither but i'd probably have to go with sticky if I was forced to choose. It would drive me more nuts to be itchy all the time!

To Be Able To Afford Fancy Mustard Or To Not Be Able?

To Be Able To Afford Fancy Mustard Or To Not Be Able?

Part 2 of my illustration project for Dartmouth Alumni Magazine from July of 1999. Here is and excerpt from a part of the article that inspired this piece: "The most frequently asked question I received while at Dartmouth was "how do you do it?" Meaning: be a poet. Meaning also: pursue a craft that is only understood by a very insular group of people and is misunderstood by generally everybody. Meaning: sleeping on futons and keeping books in milk crates way after grad school. Meaning: your friends are buying new cars and buying homes and expensive daycare for their kids while you are wondering if you can afford to buy fancy mustard."

To Be A Poet Or Not To Be A Poet?

To Be A Poet Or Not To Be A Poet?

This is the first of three really fun pieces that I did for Dartmouth Alumni Magazine back in July of 1999. This was a fun article about being a professional poet and what that lifestyle entails including it's fun and difficulties. This piece (as you can read above) focused on the idea of whether to be a poet or not as a profession. Hit "All Sizes" for a slightly larger view. More stuff tomorrow......
