#232: take a look at these hands
The hands of a writer man. Michael Kimball is on his way to something major; I can just feel it. (From the position of his hands, it's apparent that he can feel it, too!)
Michael Kimball's new novel (he has three) is Dear Everybody, and he's soon making the rounds, reading in DC, New York, and Michigan. Catch him if you can.
But more important: buy his book. I bought four of them. (I'm only reading one and giving three away as gifts.)
Today, Michael read some short excerpts—a few of the letters written by the main character relative to all the years of his life just before he offed himself. Each of these pieces sounded like a poem. A couple of them made me cry (so you know it's good!).
After his talk to a group and Q&A with a group in Bel Air, Michael, Alan, and I went to lunch, and I had (drum roll, please) a BLT. And it was "teh awse." We talked about writing, writers' groupies, and Bahhhhhhhb.
I think they think I'm nuts. But really I've just been cooped up a long time without anyone to talk to!
Anyway, I'm about to spend a few quality hours with this one and will likely give this a thorough going over by blog.
Don't you miss it.
