Just curious - did you take this picture surreptitiously, or did you ask permission of the artist? If you asked, did the artist in turn ask for a buck or two for granting permission?

i was just in venice for three weeks. i think that these might only be sold on saturdays. I basically saw them once but didn't have any cash on me so I tried going back as often as possible hoping to find them again but I never did :(
