Needs more salt. It brings out the essential 'babyness'...

Having recently received one, I think this could also pass for an ice cream maker. Still inexplicable, I grant you...

how do you make a dead baby float?

      hey, wait a sec...

seriously though, the thing looks funny, but it's designed so that the kid can't drown. the instructions even tell you to fill it up to shoulder level. and if you look at the baby in the picture, you can see that he/she/it/other would have to work damned hard at getting a couple lungsful of water. whether or not that is the actual design intent, i dunno and can't tell from looking it up on the intertubes, but since babies just lay there usually you have to know that they are lazy and wouldn't work that hard, regardless.

      ;-)

Having had one of these, I agree, the kid can't drown. However, you can't bathe the child in it either. (And, our baby was a tiny premie) And, once they have a modicum of strength in their legs, they can leap out unexpectedly - yes, I am speaking from experience.

Sucky product, but excellent resale prospects on ebay.

This is what I would call a serious "dorkism" (I make up words once in a while)...
