Controversy
Stop and no stopping? Thanks to Nancy for pointing this one out. People take this sign in their responses to literally. We found it ironic when we saw it. Some of you are taking it just too much to much seriously.
They are just signs, probably not even supposed to be on the same pole together, but in tough times, even the cities and states have to consolidate to save money. Maybe that's what happened here. They are just two signs......... remember that. Sorry if you just don't get it. I see the humor in the two together.

I'm a new driver and even i understand it. It's a stop sign at some sort of intersection and it's saying this is a busy area, so don't stop and drop people off, make deliveries or the like or you're going to cause traffic.
You may think; "oh how long does it take to stop and drop kids off..." but without the sign some people take FOREVER. Kissy-stuff, where' s my homework, kids falling out, and a million other scenerios. The same thing goes for some dude who thinks he can make a 15 second delivery, guy who is looking at his map, making a phone call and etc.

#1, you're taking the joke way too literally. Just have a minor chuckle at the absurdity of the adjacency and move on.
#2, If you really wanted to be literal about it, technically the things you're mentioning are considered standing (Definition 3).

Haha awesome. This reminds me of something from a recent road trip on a small road. Every 10 miles or so the one-lane highway opens up a passing lane to safely pass the slower traffic, which is done by speeding by the slower cars. Trouble is, there's a few of these passing lanes that open up just before a town, where the speed limit suddenly drops from 65 to 35. So the cars have to speed up and then immediately slow down! Ridiculous.

Jacktse77, go to the store and buy a sense of humor. You have none so buy a ton of it.
I suppose on a sign that says "No Standing, No Stopping or Parking" means you can't wait for the bus in that area unless you sit?
Don't look too hard into the sign. Maybe the next sign under it should be "Stop Reading The Signs, New Driver. And please, don't insult my intelligence like you did.

i get it. it's amusing. i would not call it humorous, exciting or really worth any more of my time on this pic. good job, i like the photo itself. nice depth of field and color... i suspect you're on the east coast right?
we probably have different senses of humor. i don't particularly find Monty python funny. I don't always understand British type humor. I'm more of a Chris Rock type stand-up type comic fan rather than that stuff.
