2009_09_13 Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge flyby

Shots of the Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, better known as the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge, still under construction over the Colorado Gorge just a short way downstream from Hoover Dam. Taken on approach to Las Vegas on the second leg of a trip from Boston by way of Chicago on a hot late summer day. All the rock you see here, by the way, is volcanic. Solid rhyolite, I believe.
