2007_07_11 Aurora from a 777 over Lake Superior |
When I looked out the window of the United redeye (flight 954) from San Francisco to London, I saw what looked at first like clouds, but quickly saw was somthing I've dearly wanted to see for many years: the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights. So I took a pile of pictures, of course. Most were over northern Mimmeota and Michigan's upper peninsula. The lights stayed fairly bright after that, and were only faded by dawn, which broke over eastern Canada.
