2007_06_24 Houston to Los Angeles |
A flight in a Continental 737 from Houston to Los Angeles. We got out of Houston just before huge rains hit Texas. Except for the thunderstorms coming in from the west as we departed, there was no evidence of trouble ahead. Much of the flight was hazed under, but I was able to take advantage of that, expecially approaching Los Angeles and shooting into the San Gabriel Mountains. Among the discoveries on this trip were the Monahans Dunes of west Texas, the White Sands Missle Range, some impressive Phelps Dodge copper mines, and fresh views of the San Bernardinos and San Gabriels.
