On this screenshot of Google Earth terrain, we have the latest (2:14pm Pacific, 9 May 2009) MODIS overlay showing fire radiative power. The view is just south of west across the mountains behind Montecito, toward the Jesusita Fire perimeter. For the hottest activities. look for red and yellow. Blue and violet are the "coolest" (though we're still talking about fire. Not much new here since last time, so I think we're looking at (what I hope) is the rough extent of the fire. The next shot should be much more encouraging.
