The latest MODIS map (via a .kml file from here) of the Gap Fire is encouraging. All the new fire spottings (the red dots) are on the northern edge of the fire perimeter and farther from civilization. The possibility of spreading is still high, but the conditions appear to be favorable right now. It's cooler and the winds are low.
