Ethel F. Searls and daughter Ethel M. Searls. Better known to all of us growing up as "Grandma and Aunt Ethel." This was at their summer place, Bayberry, which ajoined our Wanigan property in the pine barrens of South Jersey.
Both were two of the most generous and loving people I have ever known. Aunt Ethel sadly died after a long illness that began not too long after this picture was taken. But Grandma lived to 107, dying in 1990, in the 108th year of her life.
