This looks to me like the farming district of Pine Island. New York. Pine Island itself is at the left edge of this shot. Other spots are in the notes you see when you mouse over the picture. Snufftown is off to the right. Celery Avenue runs left to right through the middle of the picture. Although this was not on the regular route of my ice cream truck, I came here from time to time to fill in for somebody else. It was exactly as John McPhee describes in "Giving Good Weight," excerpted here.
