When I got to the counter at BWI, it was about 7:30 in the morning. There were no names on Budget's FastBreak board, and nobody behind the counter, either. When I walked up, a woman came to the counter from out of a back room. No greeting. No smile. I handed her a printout of my reservation and she asked for a driver's license and a credit card. I gave her those. Then she asked if I wanted to pre-purchase gas or get insurance. One advantage of FastBreak membership is relieving the need to ask for that information. Preferences are supposed to be known by Budget. But I politely declined both deals. Then I asked if I was getting a Ford Focus. She nodded, folded he paperwork, handed it to me and told me "B5".
I went out to the lot, was pleased to find a fresh new Focus, and started loading my stuff into the car...
