Deep Woods - Iowa

This is how I'm starting to feel come mid-February... before spring fever kicks into gear. A little wrinkled, folded, gnarly and transparent. It's a seasonal thing, and this simple leaf just says it all...

It's the same hardy leaf I featured in the blue hue "Twilight" shot a while back! I'm so impressed... it just keeps hanging on with determination and grit!

Prairie Area - North Iowa

Sometimes we miss how delicate, intricate a weed can be when dressed in white. I've always called it "Nature's Nuance" when I see a "Master Plan" in pure simplicity.

And we think we're so complicated... yeah, I'm smiling here!

North Iowa - Prairie Area

Sometimes I need to open the camera wide and let it fly..... this is after the heavy fog and mist lifted! Native oaks, prairie grass, frost, pristine blue sky. It's where I hike miles hoping to spot a Snowy Owl. So far... nothing!

The simplicity of nature's beauty.... the gift of frost creates the unusual, the unique. The weight of the frost coating bent them downward... kind of in my face weeds!

North Iowa - Prairie Area

This is what we were treated to prior to the heavy fog and mist totally burning off last Monday.... Jack Frost was a very busy guy with his paint brush. The sun was playing hide and seek, while I was hiking through the prairie grass looking for Snowy Owls.

It's where I hike... my place of solitude!
