White Russian

Stepping out of my usual territory, I decide to take a closer look at my favorite of vices. This is a tough shot because there's only so many attempts you can make; after a while, it gets hard to hold the camera steady.

They are excellent, raemarie. I highly encourage you to try one, or two. Don't do drugs and stay in school, however. Ok you should try at least 3.

The other thing is that white russians look different (before mixing, of course) depending on what dairy product you use - half and half, cream, or heavy cream. Heavier dairy tends to mix less with the alcohol base and produces more abstract patterns. This particular drink, however, was made with half and half.

There's a lot of experimentation ahead for me...

So, is a White Russian supposed to be a shot, or a drink? And are the ingredients Kaluha (sp?), vodka and some kind of dairy product? I ask because you seem to know a little more than I do, and I don't wanna search the wonderful porn library known as the Internet right now.

It is a real drink, and it's basically what you said. In a highball, a measure of vodka (for me, two shots of Stoli), two measures of Kahlua, and cream or half-and-half to the top (for me, about three measures). It ends up being a little darker than what you'd get in a bar, but in a good way.
