Grey's GeographyThe hospital is supposed to be right about here. Establishing shots show it practically underneath the Space Needle, and one shot in the opening episode had a helicopter landing on the hospital roof (actually using the KOMO 4 building's pad). Queen Anne, roughly where Meredith appears to live. Yet she has to drive Northward on the Alaska Way Viaduct to get to the hospital. The Alaska Way viaduct, which Meredith drives northward on from her house to the hospital. One window in the hospital has a gorgeous view of the Pike Place Market's famous neon sign. Exterior shots of the hospital show the lack of skyscrapers of south Seattle, thanks to using the exterior of the Washington State Liquor Control Board's South Seattle complex.
Looking at the amusingly twisted geography of Grey's Anatomy, ABC's new medical drama set in Seattle. Kinda.
