I spent quite a while trying to get the right shot of various flowers on Clapham Common. These daisies had petals with pink tips and, combined with the warm sunset, seemed to be the most photogenic. It's a shame that we hadn't had a whole day of sun as most of the flowers were closed up for the day, but the flower on the right was just about struggling on!

I happened upon this scene whilst venturing through the Common. The sun was striking through the trees at an angle by which it lit these nettles, yet left the area behind them in the dark. Various debris was falling from the tree above, although I didn't really manage to capture too much of that in the shot. However, I'm pretty happy with the results regarding the stingers and various other spiky greenery.

I'm sure there was a better photo in this scene somewhere, but I couldn't quite find it.

I was out testing the Nikon P510 when I stumbled across this scene at the basketball courts on Clapham Common. The mid-afternoon light was striking the players from the right and creating eye-catching highlights and a slight heat haze in the background. Rather than approach the game for a closer angle, I utilised the 42x (!) optical zoom for this candid shot.

Cropped slightly in Photoshop and converted to black and white with the Channel Mixer.

The view from a roof terrace atop shopping centre in central London. Quite a location for watching the sunset behind St. Paul's Cathedral.

I had an hour of two with the new Nikon D800 and, although I didn't really have time to put it through it's paces, it was enough to leave a good impression. Hope I get a chance to use it more in the near future!
