A perfect place for a family reunion
The Colorado Monument, in the cliffs above Grand Junction, Colorado was conveniently located for my family reunion in nearby Fruita. I've never had the privilege of sharing a national park with so many of my relatives before. I'm usually out there alone with my camera. On this rare occasion, we had 3 cars of family members enjoying the park for the day. It gave us plenty of opportunities to get family portraits and to spend time together doing something a little more active than eating. ;-)
Uploaded on Nov 12, 2009 Over the LimitInside the Eisenhower/Johnson Memorial Tunnel on I-70 in Colorado. It's quite the engineering feat. If you're not expecting it, it's quite a weird feeling driving directly into the side of the mountain with no idea where it will come out.
Uploaded on Nov 11, 2009 Snoqualmie DreamscapeSnoqualmie Falls during a crisp November day. It's running well after recent rains and generating a huge amount of mist. Unfortunately, the boardwalk trail to the bottom was closed on my visit for renovation - taking a bit of wind out of my sails. :-( I love the view from the bottom of this waterfall! It was still an excellent day! :-)
Uploaded on Nov 2, 2009 Snail and ToadstoolsMy grandfather is enjoys finding new things in his backyard. Upon visiting him this morning, he immediately told me of a 'snail with a nice house' that I needed to photograph. He has quite the collection of mushrooms right now as well. It was a fun visit.
