Fall Morning in the Least Populated State Capital

Fall Morning in the Least Populated State Capital

We recently stayed in Montpelier, the small capital of Vermont. We were only able to find two places to eat dinner after 9pm: the bar, and the Irish bar. The leaves were brilliant, and it has a very walkable downtown.

Inside Fort Vancouver

Inside Fort Vancouver

I can't remember the name of this building right now. The information on the replica buildings is pretty sparse on the Internet, so I'll dig up my brochure and get this labeled properly as soon as I can.

I'm not sure if the bright blue color was the original styling, my guess is that it wasn't, but it sure looks pretty.

The Academy in Minurature

The Academy in Minurature

An experimental photo I took of the old Academy's flower lined entrance path from the new Vancouver Library. The path looks great this time of year.

Inside Fort Vancouver

Sometimes I forget that we have a National Park within a few minutes of my house. Maybe because it is historical rather than natural. Regardless, I have often thought about how to photograph Fort Vancouver in a beautiful way. I don't think i have figured it out yet, maybe because it is only open during high sun hours, but I'll work on it.

For now, here is a simple interior of the dining room. I like the bright colors and the soft light through the windows.

Randolph Hearst's Neptune Pool

Randolph Hearst's Neptune Pool

San Simeon State Park recently had to change their tour structure as a result of budget cuts. As a result, tourists can now browse the grounds at their leisure. (The homes are still visited by tour only.) So on this hot day, many visitors stayed close to the pool, all wishing they could jump in.
