Minneapolis Critical Mass [Aug '07]

Photos from the August 2007 Minneapolis Critical Mass ride.

I'm not coming out as a supporter of either side of this event. It is my personal opinion that the normally peaceful ride was joined by people from out of town who really did "incite a riot," as charged by police. I think the MPD was scared and overreacted, and the swarm of officers prompted even more of an overreaction from the bicyclists. There are still questions unanswered by the MPD, but following the September CM ride, those are questions for those who were charged to ask with their lawyers.

It's an overall unfortunate event, but now that most (?) of the charges have been dropped and after positive meetings between MPD administration and Critical Mass attendees, the event can be more peaceful in the future.
