very good use of the fisheys lens.

  9. höhenmagnolie (69 months ago | reply)

maybe next year :) it was funny though, watching the A's sweat before clinching. The shot looks gorgeous.

Great use of the 10.5. A lot of CA in the lights, but easy to knock down in Photoshop. Great color and location.

  13. dustinbing (69 months ago | reply)

Amazing shot and such clarity. Great Job Mike...as usual.

  14. tschopper (Tom Schopper Photography) (69 months ago | reply)

    Such a cool "S.I."-like shot!!!

How long before gametime was this taken? I ask because the stands are virtually empty.....

  15. Erin - TwoMoreSeconds (69 months ago | reply)

tschopper - i'd guess that this was between 630-645 (20-30 minutes before the start of the game) because they're still hosing down the dirt in the infield and people are still seeking autographs by the Angels dugout!

mike - this is a beautiful shot! i've always wanted to hike up to the top row of that section right there in the middle to get a shot like this. did you happen to get one of the grass on Sunday where they had Salmon and the number 15 carved in? that would be neat, too.

Cherry Moon, Joits, Alessandro Mendes, kitchen mama, krobbie, Carl M., hohenmagnolie, hsbaru, spokanitis, dustinbing - Thanks so much!

arkwold - Well, they are the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, silly as that name may be. LOL

Spitzgogo - I know. It's a shame they didn't make it to the finals, but I did have fun watching them beat the A's that evening. ;)

bksecretphoto - Yup, they can be tamed a bit in Photoshop I'm sure. ;)

tschopper - This was taken 30 minutes before the game began. The stadium tends to fill up at the last moment. It wasn't as packed as usual this evening as usual.

Erin - Very good guess. You're exactly right on the time! I didn't attend the Sunday game, so I didn't get the cool effects they did on the grass. It was a very cool thing to see the A, Salmon and 15 cut into the grass.

wow! what a great shot! i love the use of the fisheye lens here!

  26. disneymike (69 months ago | reply)

Scuzzi - Thank you. A fisheye lens can create a very dramatic photograph, but it takes some getting used to knowing which subjects lend themselves to it and which don't.

    Great perspective!
You could think in presenting it to this contest! Imatoria - XXI Century Temples

Your image express the new temple of this century, a place where people believe and enjoy themsevles. A building that define a culture and is symbol of the city! You would do good at the conceptual category of the contest!
