United States of Special Rights and Double Standards

Watch the video at the following link:

United States of Special Rights and Double Standards

Everyday at the Armed Forces Recruitment Center in Hollywood, CA, military personnel park their cars illegally in meter spots and red zones (sometimes three cars deep). All of which, would get minion civilians and non-government employees parking tickets and towed if they parked their vehicle in this section of red zone.

The actions from these government workers is costing local businesses, the city of Los Angeles, and it’s residents hundreds to thousands of dollars each day in lost revenue.

More important, city officials have chosen to support this kind of behavior from their fellow government chronies, but at the same time have raised parking rates and citation fees on the rest of us, arguing that the city is losing money.

State of CA Increases Parking Citation Penalties by $3.00 Effective Immediately
The CA State legislature recently passed a court construction cost bill that increases state-wide penalties to pay for these costs. The bill, SB 1407, includes a $3.00 penalty imposed per parking citation. This is in addition to the existing $1.50 penalty per parking citation. Parking Citations issued by LADOT will now have a comment printed on the bottom of the ticket stating that “the fine includes a $4.50 State penalty effective

Kinda ironic isn’t it?

Let me also remind everyone, that the city vehicles driven by our top-notch city council members and their associates are exempt from paying meter fees and will not be cited for pretty much anything in this city.

Is this really a government of the people, by the people, for the people? I think not.
