Light walked into my life
one winters’ day completely
unannounced, unexpected.
My world tipped itself on it’s head,
(or maybe I tipped it?)
and twisted who I thought I was
and where I thought I was going
back to the core of my heart
and back to my path.
As winter shifted to summer
Light lifted higher in my life,
illuminating my way and setting me free.
As summer shifts back to winter,
Light lies low on the horizon,
warming the days from behind
leaving everything shrouded in an
eerie silhouetted glow.

Light ran straight through me
and never stopped to look back.
Light assumed I’d follow my own path
as direct and bright and swift
as the path of Light itself.

she walked home from a long day
through a tunnel that got only brighter
as she delved further and further into it,
startling her, blinding her to the world she left behind
