Even with the carts half buried in the snow, you don't get a sense of how tall that mound of snow is in the background. Further to the right it was close to 40 feet high. It stayed there until the end of April. The snow became blacker as it melted, and what was left there when it was finally down the drain wasn't pretty. Furniture. Carpets. Clean fill. And evidence that 3000 birds had been snacking on the bits for, oh, 2 months.
