From The New To The Old

From The New To The Old

Evo looks deep in thought on the train from Bangkok (the new capital) to Ayutthaya (the old capital). It was a rickety old carriage (I think we had third class tickets?) but it only cost us about 50p, if that!

Along The Tracks

Along The Tracks

Our trip to Ayutthaya took ages, mainly because we stopped every 20 minutes to let people jump off in places like this. Weirdest. Train. Ride. Ever.

Sitting at the Railway Station

Sitting at the Railway Station

Sat on a train waiting to leave Bangkok. The ticket to Ayuttayah only cost about 30p for an 80km trip but took about 3 hours

The train was as basic as you can get and stopped in random places along the route to let people jump off!

Flying High

Flying High

Atop the Golden Mount in Bangkok with the Thailand flag flying high. The sky was beautifully blue and the sun was shining. It was perfect weather to view the capital for miles around.

The First Tuk-Tuk

The First Tuk-Tuk

When in Bangkok...you ride tuk-tuk style. They'll take you anywhere you like - make sure you haggle the price though. Oh, and always expect to end up in a suit shop or a jewellery shop owned by their cousin or uncle or something. They're persisent so remember...just say no kids!
