After visiting a volunteer's counterpart near the rice fields. Before the rainy season comes, locals grow a variety of veggies in the fertile soil. Currently (and to the right in the picture), they are growing mainly onions.

The women in Senegal work ridiculously hard compared to the men. Child rearing, all of the cooking, home chores, and most of the agricultural duties are in their hands.

Besides being a nitrogen fixer and provider of scattered shade, Moringa leaves are nutritionally dense. During All-Vol, where volunteers from all over West-Aftrica gather for informative sessions, our country director made us eggs, morings, and beans mixed together and added to bread. Delicious.
