thanks guys! no, actually, there are 2
speedlites, one is on the camera and one is
to the right at waist level, the sun is to
the left and slightly behind as you can see
from the shadows on the sand... the canon
wireless thing was really unreliable compared
to radios, about half the shots misfired...
then again maybe it was my fault ehehe first
time I use the wireless system thing

Los reflejos de la luz en las piernas hacen a
la foto muy especial.
Por alguna razón me gusta el horiznte
inclinado, creo que va con la pose y la
cadencia de la modelo.

faro por alla hay como otra playa que da
hacia el mar, nisiquiera se si en realidad a
esa playa la llaman san carlos o tiene otro
nombre... hay que caminar mas o menos, eso
si!

gusta el horizonte asi por eso lo dejé...
mike: I had 2 people helping me, although
only one would have been really necessary, as
the second flash is about 1 meter to the
right of the shot aiming at her, and somebody
has to hold it...

bartek: no, I used the canon wireless
system... you tell the on-camera flash to
behave as master and set the other flash as
slave and it is triggered automatically. You
have to have line of sight between flashes,
and it fails a lot at least in bright
sunlight. Radios are much more reliable,
though... but obviously more expensive.

this is amazing. subject and background
exposed normally and just enough highlighting
to make her and her reflection the focus. It
doesn't bother me at all that her face is in
shadow because it makes her mysterious.
it's like we (the viewer) called out to
her...she turned, curious to know what we
want..our eyes meet...
(haha, maybe I've got Amenabar's 'The Sea
Inside' on the brain)
