tisdale53, especially that this is not an official feature, I have made this video with a russian program what reads the live-view information from the camera.

Az érzékelőt mér ölné, az elvileg nem kopik. A zárat sem bántja annyira, mert ez ugye két lövésnek számít. :)

Wow. Right after I bought a Nikon D80! Doh!

This is going to be great for amateur film makers. Some awesome possibilities with proper lenses.

Pvt. Martin, this should works with your 450d as well. All Canon DSLR is fine if it capable of live view

So can you please tell me - does the camera have to be tethered to the computer to do this? Or do you shoot on to the memory card?

eszpee  Pro User  says:

bignosetw, you need to keep your camera connected to a windows computer via the USB cable.

it's amazing!
i think the program change the firmware of the camera
and probably there is no sound... XD

circle, the firmware is untouched, I think this hack works on the same way as the Canon remote shooting utility handles the camera.
No sound of course, since there is no built in mic in the body.

interesting, not sure how useful it would be if a laptop has to be connected, wonder if the wi fi battery grip could just send it to the laptop.

that russian program is great. i've been doing that with the 40d as well.
the only downside is the framerate caps at 22fps

the first test we did using 70-200 f/2.8L, mostly to play around with DoF: vimeo.com/6564533
an ongoing set of videos of monterey peninsula mountain bikers:
www.facebook.com/boodapon?v=app_2392950137

all filmed with the camera tethered to laptop
