      That is sweet. I have heard that in Manhattan they actually make a car parking lane as a buffer between the bikes and the sidewalk. Out here we have large storm drainage ditches, that are public infrastructure and where they can they put bike paths along the ditches which is completely isolated from car traffic. It makes a bike expressway that is a fun way to travel even during rush hours.
