this looks almost like bad vintage porn until the baby hatches.

  4. matuko amini (50 months ago | reply)

    a lot easier than childbirth!

  5. diastema (50 months ago | reply)

Ha! Lane, you almost made me snort tea up my nose. Of course, it couldn't truly be bad vintage porn without bad vintage porn music...

Pheezy, grab the kids and head for the root cellar. They're coming for you!

    Much easier, Adrienne!

So *THAT'S* where babies come from! Thanks for enlightening me, Diastema!

My pleasure, Elke! I figured it was time everyone knew the truth.

    "the baby hatches"
    that says it all really

im starting to understand that video isnt necessarily a bad thing. this was cool!

  16. diastema (50 months ago | reply)

Thanks, kids! Making this little video gave me newfound appreciation for birds and their nest-making abilities. I mean, I've got opposable thumbs AND a glue gun and I still had trouble making something that looked semi-authentic.

i really do hope you do more of this kind of thing. i especially liked the lighting changes which made everything seem nice and raw... which is cool because normally i don't even *like* raw eggs!

    Nice.

Awesome use of video. If we have to have it, I hope it leans towards this, predominantly. Not everyone has your talent, though. I've often wondered how the hell birds make nests without hands.

  22. Forrest Seas (50 months ago | reply)

The first video I've seen worth watching.

lurve it. i feel like these are hidden-camera videos of the toys that come alive while you are sleeping.

  26. Archie_Pix [deleted] (50 months ago | reply)

This is like a subtly psychotic Ray Harryhausen flick. Nice.

  27. Tampen (50 months ago | reply)

Can we have some bad vintage porn soon ?

  28. Ayîk/Petit Tricotage (50 months ago | reply)

I thought your stills were captivating; these little films are equally enthralling.

  29. diastema (50 months ago | reply)

You guys are so awesome. Thanks so much!

Steph Goralnick and Mr. Archie Pix hit the nail right on the head...that's pretty much the vibe I was going for. Yay!

Tampen, I'm currently working on the script for my bad vintage toy film, and I'm holding auditions for the part of the impressionable pizza deliveryman.

Stri, I hate raw eggs, too! And what I hate even more is having to blow the guts out of a raw egg that reeks of vinegar from the dye bath.

Tara, I started another box for you. I have so much stuff and can't wait for our BIG yard sale next month. As I go through my crap, some of the tiny things will be set aside.

  34. Rachel McCauley (50 months ago | reply)

    awesome! you are very talented.

  35. diastema (50 months ago | reply)

    Thank you, Rachel!

Jim, I'm bouncing with glee over here! Just tell me that the famous chair will NOT be sold in the yard sale.

    www.flickr.com/photos/striatic/2408498322/

since i sleep facing the wall, they're the first thing i see when i wake up!

  40. defekto (50 months ago | reply)

haa.. the "famous" chair will stay, but it's really starting to need a good cleaning!

  41. sfrances (50 months ago | reply)

I'll take mine scrambled! Lovely work that's even livelier thanks to Flickr vid. Viva viva!

  42. helveticaneue (50 months ago | reply)

well she'll certainly keep her girlish figure birthing that way.

  43. diastema (50 months ago | reply)

    Thanks, babies!

Laura, the eggshell doubles as a bassinet.

Frances, I like mine over-hard, with bacon. Wait, make that double bacon.

Jim, I bet that chair could tell some pretty amazing stories....

stri, that's so awesome! I prefer to sleep facing the window, which is probably why I don't have art on the bedroom walls.

Seth, I used Windows Movie Maker, and it works pretty well for these little projects.
