Wonderful capture. It's cool how grandparents can just melt with the love of their grandkids. T

are those black areas on his hair and clothing from your scanner? when I viewed this large they are quite prominent

    4. thedianna (88 months ago | reply)

Yep, this is a scan of a print on a fairly cheap flatbed scanner. The blacks on all my b/w print scans from that scanner look weird.

mine (fairly expensive one) does that to my negatives sometimes when I use the digital ice/scratch and dust removal

I love the face of the grandma, though it is overexposed. Great moment.

great moment in time, but the scan is bad or something in the glass has caused the contrast is blowing out the darks/lights and causing tearing. So I voted based on "tinkering" malfunctions. You can try scanning at a lower resolution like 266 dpi(133lpi). But yeah....grandma's are cool.

I'll vote on my own. I love that I captured the moment, but technically there are some issues that bother me; 1) the plane of focus should be on their eyes, but it's looks like it's somewhere slightly behind that plane. 2) the object in the foreground is distracting, so is the arm behind grandma's head (I was already opened up to f/1.2, so not something that DOF could solve). As a picture in the family album it's great.
