first self-portrait in a year! i can't believe it's been this long.

i don't practice off-camera lighting enough, so i'm going to try to use them more often in my self-portraits. (i don't do self-portraits enough either apparently, so i guess i will try to do those more often as well :)

this was shot with a 580 ex II through a lumiquest softbox III, camera left. everything else is ambient light. and then there was a ton of photoshop. just because i miss going crazy with it and i certainly don't get to to that for client photography ;)

Wow... I've been away from flickr from almost a year now. And the scary thing is -- I didn't even mean for it to happen!

Anyway, this is the last self-portrait I took last summer when I was in Seattle, the day before moving out. I remember it being a day of mixed emotions.

Funny thing -- I was missing my remote trigger during this period of time. So, for each take on this shot, I had to set my camera, jump off the bed, jump onto a desk, climb up onto the window sill, then pose! Without looking out of breath! In under 20 seconds! Of course, being the crazy person I am, I tried this about 8 billion times with three outfit changes. Needless to say, I got a pretty good workout that left me sore for days. Man, I really do miss doing these self-portraits....

I'll be posting more photos from the last year where I've been concentrating on "client shoots" for local business :) I've started off by just creating a facebook page. Please "like" me to follow more current work there!
