WHy dont you try a fixed focus and varrying zoom. however i am interested to know why Long lens are you using.

Nav.A : i have taken lots of snaps with fixed focus and varying zoom... u can find them on my photostream with "architecture must burn" names.. i wanted to try soft focus with varying zoom.. and this is what i got. i used 18-55mm standard kit lense for this.
