In Search of the World Tipitaka, 1999-2003

In Search of the World Tipiṭaka manuscript in Sri Lanka : from the Holy Tooth Temple to Peradeniya University and the Presidential Palace.

Digital archives of Dhamma Society's World Tipitaka Project form 1999 to the present-day have recorded the work of a group of Tipitaka volunteers who were searching for the original council resolution manuscript of the World Pāḷi Tipiṭaka Edition which were prepared in 1954-1957.

The search of the World Tipiṭaka Project began in Yangon, Myanmar and then to many provinces of Thailand. The search also included all historic regions in Sri Lank. After 2003, a search went to Europte to Stocklholm, Uppsala, and Lund in Sweden. In 2007 the search finally went to Japan in Osaka and Tokyo.
