Royal Tipitaka Presentation in Japan 2008 by dhammasociety.org.
National News on the World Tipiṭaka Project

The Dhamma Society's World Pāḷi Tipiṭaka Project in Roman Script was granted an audience by Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn at her residence on March 20, 2008.

Chancellor of the Dhamma Society Fund respectfully informed the Princess of the formal request form Japan in 2007 for the royal donation of the World Tipiṭaka Edition in Roman script and the forthcoming plan in 2008 for the Presentation Ceremony in Osaka.

Also present in the party included a representative of the Royal Thai Air Force, President of Princess Galyani's Tipiṭaka Endowment Fund Project and Patrons of the World Tipiṭaka.

The World Tipiṭaka Edition will be presented as a Royal Gift of Wisdom & Peace to leading institutions in Japan which received the royal gift of Tipiṭaka from Princess Chulabhorn's Great-Grand Father, King Chulalongkorn Chulachomklao of Siam, over a century ago.

The Royal Tipiṭaka Donation was graciously initiated by the late H.R.H. Princess Galyani Vadhana, the Royal Matriarch of Thailand, who was the Founding Honorary President of the World Tipiṭaka Presentation Worldwide. The 40-volume set in Roman script was published by Dhamma Society Fund in Bangkok in 2005.Uploaded with the Flock Browser
