I've always wondered this, do you know how to actually transfer the PS files into a functioning website?

Of course haha. You need to either put it through flash, or slice it and then take it to dreamweaver, and then upload to webspace - mine being www.five9.net

What do you mean by slicing? I'm simply a designer, not good at any of the other stuff :-P I was working on a design for a friend earlier and he didnt know how he was going to get it to work and neither did I so this is very helpful.

      Thanks,
      Mike

It's really easy. You should have Imageready CS, which is like Photoshop's little brother. Open your psd in there and select the slice tool then make selections around what you want to be a single image. Eg, you know when you go to a website, it has a lot of little pictures, not a whole single image? Well this is what your doing. So make a selection around the header or something say just the logo, then make a slice around each of the buttons or something.

      Basically.

Gotchya, and then I import that into Dreamweaver, but how do I assign the links to each of the images?

Edit: Alright, I sliced the header, but how do I get it from ImageReady to Dreamweaver? Just a simple copy and paste or is there something more to it?

You need to slice every thing you want, then you go to File > Save Optimised As > then rename your file to index then save it as a html thing - I THINK!

How do I get the .html header file into Dreamweaver?

Ask digitalhead when he learns how to actually make a website out of his own 'slices'!

      Soon, lol.

after youve saved the slices as HTML you gointo dreamweaver and open the .html file. to add a link to a slice in dreamweaver you select the slice, then just add the link address in the appropiate box which should pop up once you selct the slice. www.pixel2life.com should help.

I like the way photoshop looks on a mac. I've never seen it before. Man I cant wait to get a macbook pro.
