      Well, it's also nature in action. But, it sure has major economic and social effects.

      It wasn't nature that planted pine monocultures after we clearcut the original multiage, multispecies forests. Nature isn't responsible for the warmer winters either. We've orchestrated this, and now it's out of our hands.

      Well, nature does, sometimes, plant pine monocultures following a fire in a pine stand... but, overall you are correct. Humans have played a role.

      Although, in some cases (e.g. fire suppression), it is a case of good intentions gone wrong.
