The Message Never Sent ( Tribute to Brian Day )
( EXPLORED!!! ) This is a tribute to a good friend of mine ( stop changing your name already though, yeesh ) Brian Day/B.Plus ( www.flickr.com/people/brianday/ ) . I've taken the liberty of doing this in color ( as Brian rarely posts in color ) because quite frankly I think my red Detroit shirt with the Coca Cola type script is just downright cool. Brian has been a big influence to many of us here in Detroit, as well as a ton of people across flickrland and beyond. He and I share a passionate interest in the history of this city, as well as it's future. A big thanks to another friend of mine and one of my favorite shooting buddies and a helluva photographer in his own right Tony Lafferty ( www.flickr.com/people/tonylafferty/ ) for crossing over from Nikonland to trigger this shot on my Canon. :)

She [
] is right man. You are one of the most
knowledgeable cats I've ever met when it
comes to this town, and I've learned a lot
from conversation and from your posts here on
Flickr. We each have our own way of
expression through these images, and while
I'm a long way from anything worthy of a
tribute, I am honored at the kind words.
I've got a lot of respect for the folks here
that have a sense of community and bring
minimal ego to the table. You are a great
example of both, and it's a pleasure to call
you a friend, sir.
Oh, and sweet shot! I've developed the flaw of overlooking great colors in a shot because I'm thinking in b/w. You make me want to go back to the drawing board. haha

A very apt tribute to one awesome photographer by another awesome photographer. Both of you are true scholars and institutions in your own regards. In my inner circle of friends, I have named you "the living Detroit encyclopedia".

Stopped by here today and a guy on a ladder was tearing the bricks apart and was stealing the sign. If you're hoping to shoot this after today, the odds are the sign will be gone.
